Encouraging a Culture of Saving Among Teenagers
Saving is a habit that can transform lives, and every great financial journey begins with a simple first step.
As part of our Financial Literacy Programme, Musawo Betty Care and Research Centre (MBCRC) proudly distributed piggy banks to teenagers to encourage them to develop the habit of saving from an early age.
Each piggy bank represents more than a place to keep coins, it symbolizes discipline, responsibility, goal setting, and the belief that small, consistent savings can lead to big opportunities. During the activity, participants learned practical lessons on budgeting, distinguishing between needs and wants, setting savings goals, and making wise financial decisions.
By providing these piggy banks, we are empowering adolescents to put their financial knowledge into practice. Whether they save for school supplies, personal development, or future business ideas, every coin saved is a step toward financial independence.
At MBCRC, we believe that equipping young people with financial literacy today helps build confident, responsible, and self-reliant leaders for tomorrow.
We extend our gratitude to our partners, parents, and supporters who continue to make initiatives like this possible. Together, we are shaping a generation that values planning, saving, and investing in a brighter future.
We also continue to call upon more partners to come together with us so as we build a brighter future through empowering the young generation in all aspects.
